Colorimetry

Do you find reading difficult or uncomfortable? Do you find words move on the page or run into each other? Do you suffer from sore, tired eyes and headaches after reading? If so, you may be suffering from Visual Stress or Meares-Irlen Syndrome and Colorimetry could help you.

Wardale Williams Opticians can carry out special assessments to determine whether using coloured overlays when reading or wearing coloured glasses can relieve symptoms of visual stress.

Coloured Overlays

If your child is having problems with reading then a Coloured Overlay Assessment will determine if using a specially tinted acetate sheet over the page of words will improve ease of reading. The chosen overlay can then be taken away and used at home and at school and if found to be beneficial, then coloured spectacles may be considered.

Precision Tinted Lenses

Wardale Williams has a special machine called an Intuitive Colorimeter which carefully determines the optimum colour for Precision Tinted Lenses. These are worn in a normal spectacle frame and can reduce symptoms of visual stress found in our everyday lives.
